Why Educational Technology?

My purpose for pursuing a Master of Educational Technology (MET) degree stemmed from my interest in the topics of digital literacy, inclusion and decolonization, as well as learning design. Additionally, I have always viewed myself as a lifelong learner and recognize the importance that technology plays in both our everyday lives and the world around us. Thus, I wanted to ensure that I would be poised to use and integrate technology in innovative, meaningful ways in any educational or professional context with an awareness of both the advantages and complexities that technological innovation generates.

MET Goals

Framework and Artifacts

My ePortfolio is organized according to an inquiry framework. I am a very data-driven, research based individual that believes that systems should be designed and decisions made using quality information and that most quests for knowledge and understanding should follow an inquiry cycle. The artifacts that I have chosen to showcase here highlight the understandings and/or skills that I have honed during the MET program and feature one of the following three categories of the inquiry process:

Land Acknowledgement

I would like to acknowledge that my home is located within beautiful Treaty 8 Territory. Treaty 8 Territory is the ancestral and current homeland of many diverse Indigenous communities. I am honoured to live, work, and learn on the traditional lands of the Nehiyawak (Cree), Dane-zaa (Beaver), and Mètis people.
