Part of studying Educational Technology involves examining the role that Artificial Intelligence (AI) plays in our society including the ethical concerns posed by new technologies. The assignment that I am showcasing here is an example of using fiction to explore what AI might look like in the future. In addition, ETEC 540 really helped me to expand my knowledge of text technologies and explore the idea that technology skills are literacy skills. Literacy is no longer about simply being able to read and write text on paper, but extends to your ability to access information and create using technology. Not only did we explore many of the ideas related to the evolution of text technologies, but the assignments challenged me to explore new mediums and expand my technology skills by doing things like writing and recording a podcast. Podcasts have become an incredibly popular way for people to create content and share with a wide audience. This activity gave me a new appreciation of the amount of time and effort that can go into creating one podcast episode.
