Professional Goals & Final Reflection

When I applied to the MET program two years ago, I was still a learning support teacher at an Elementary school, and I thought that was the path that I would continue to pursue.

However, when a new opportunity to work in Community Development presented itself, I was eager to take on a new challenge. I have actually had an interest in working in Municipal government as far back as high school, it just took me awhile to get there!

I really do have a passion for promoting inclusion through research, collaboration, strategic planning, and education. I feel fortunate to be able to bring my skills to an environment where I can work towards developing innovative solutions to complex problems and bring about positive changes in my community.

Goals

1) Learn more about policy development and public engagement.

2) Build Leadership skills.

3) Acquire more knowledge of budgeting and grant management.

4) Continue to listen, learn, and facilitate discussions on equity, diversity, inclusion, decolonization, and anti-racism.
